Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
As we approach the final weeks of Term 4, it’s wonderful to reflect on the many achievements, celebrations, and events that have taken place at Alyangula Area School. From our youngest learners to our graduates, the past weeks have truly showcased the vibrant and dynamic spirit of our school community.
This week, we celebrated our students' achievements at the Special Awards Assembly, where we recognized exceptional effort, leadership, and contributions to our school. It was heartening to see the library and Multi-Purpose Room filled with proud families who joined us to share in this special occasion. Thank you for your support—it truly makes these moments even more meaningful.
Our Transitioning to Transition sessions have been a highlight, helping our Preschool students prepare for their first year of formal schooling. Watching them engage with their future teachers and peers has been a joy, and we’re proud of how smoothly they are stepping into this new chapter.
We’ve also welcomed our 2025 Preschool cohort for their first orientation sessions. These experiences allow our newest learners to become familiar with their surroundings, teachers, and future friends. A big thank you to parents and Seagrass Early Learning for your partnership in ensuring this transition is a positive and welcoming experience.
Congratulations to our Year 6 students on graduating Primary School! The Year 6 Graduation Ceremony was a proud moment for students, families, and staff alike. It’s been an honour to celebrate their accomplishments and growth, and we look forward to seeing them shine as they step into the next phase of their schooling journey.
This week marked an important transition as our 2024 Student Leaders handed over their roles to the 2025 Student Leaders. We extend heartfelt thanks to the outgoing leaders for their dedication, resilience, and positive influence throughout the year. To our incoming leaders, congratulations! We look forward to your passion and ideas helping to shape the next year at Alyangula Area School.
A special congratulations to our Senior and Junior Choirs, who performed beautifully at the GEMOC Kids Christmas Party on Saturday. Your dedication, hard work, and talent shone brightly, and you should all be very proud of your performance. Thank you for representing Alyangula Area School so wonderfully in the community.
Looking ahead to 2025, our Step Up Day is happening this Tuesday. This exciting opportunity allows students to spend the day with their new teachers and classmates for next year, giving them a chance to get comfortable with their new routines.

Next Thursday, we’ll come together for our Christmas Concert on the Basketball Court. Families are invited to join us for an evening of entertainment as students showcase their talents through music, dance, and more. Food will be available for purchase, so bring a rug and prepare for a wonderful evening.
On Friday, 6th December, we will celebrate our graduating pre-schoolers at 9:00 AM. Families are warmly invited to join us in recognizing this important milestone.
As we approach the end of the academic year, please note that the last day of school is Thursday, 12th December. Student reports will be distributed on Monday, 9th December, and class parties will take place on Tuesday, 10th December.
It’s been a busy and rewarding term, and I look forward to celebrating these final weeks of 2024 with you all.
